Otavalo is about two hours north of Quito and is well known for its famous Saturday Market which was high on my list to see in Ecuador. We also had some other stops along the way for interesting Ecuadorian food, Laguna de Cuicocha and my highlight of the day, the animal market.

At the start of 2017, we said goodbye to Vancouver as it was time to see some more of Canada before we made our way to our next new home, Toronto. One thing we couldn’t leave without, was taking a trip to see Vancouver Island.
We had been patiently waiting all summer long to visit the Bruce Peninsula. Mid September was the earliest we could find available accommodation and so we hoped for the best when it came to the weather. But, we couldn’t have gotten any luckier! It was the best summer weather we had seen this year and we happened to be in the perfect place to enjoy it.
The first stop on the journey after leaving Australia was Honolulu, Hawaii. It is an ultimate destination for both relaxation and adventure! It should also be noted that we found it to be the perfect halfway point between Australia and North America for those looking to avoid the long haul flight.
